- Abstract
This article presents a report of clinical examinations of occupational skin diseases performed on about 2600 house painters in a health screening programme in Stockholm, Sweden. It is reported that indications for patch testing were liberal and apart from cases of contact eczema, patients with other types of dermatitis were tested with a standard tray and with additional substances from their working environment. Of 190 painters with different types of eczema, five were found allergic to chloracetamide. It is investigated that chloracetamide has induced a delayed type of cell damage in isolated rat hepatocytes which was preceded by glutathione depletion.
