- Title
Reviving the corporate medical library: using technology to become a cost center.
- Abstract
The article discusses ways in which corporate medical libraries can contribute to their organizations' revenue while also proving their overall value to administrators. The authors examine the medical library at Qualidigm, a non-profit health care quality improvement organization, and how the staff used advances in technology to benefit users; for example the implementation of document delivery operations to streamline access to information. The Qualidigm library staff proved that they could also market their services outside of the firm, thus adding to the company's profits.
