- Abstract
This article examines the modernity and globalization, through oral sources, among the Kichwa indigenous inhabitants of the Ecuadorian Amazon and its effect on the identity and conception of reality of these people. It discusses the identity crisis taking place among the Kichwa inhabitants, characteristics of the Amazonian Kichwa identity, and the abandonment of the ancestral practices by the modern Kichwa generations.
