- Abstract
The article presents a study discussing habitat degradation with incidence of invasion of oyster reefs by refugee fishes escaping stress. Topics include sustainable management of biological resources, effects of natural and anthropogenic disturbances on supporting food webs, and how studies of human impacts on marine food webs rely on bioenergetic modeling. The study concludes implications for the design of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs).
