- Abstract
The article presents information on articles from periodicals on Scandinavian economic history. It is reported that many of the articles in the Scandinavian periodical literature during 1973 deal with the reactions in the Nordic countries of what happened among the great powers in Europe. From the Middle Ages is a thorough summing up of research in the relations between Hansa and northern Europe by Grethe Authen Blom: Hansaen og Norden. One group of articles in the journals of 1973 deals with the effects of the European industrialization on Scandinavian economic and social structure. Norwegian industrialization has been much debated in the last years thanks to new books. Fritz Hodne jumps into the debate with "Growth in a Dual Economy: The Norwegian Experience 1814-1914," Economy and History. He applies today the almost classic development theory of A. Lewis not without success. The country has a colonial history, which has given it a dualistic character, not only economically but also culturally and legally.
