- Abstract
The article discusses the international criminal investigations into the London Inter Bank Offer Rate (LIBOR) controversy and the impact of the investigations on commercial trading organizations as of October 2012. It states that LIBOR, which is calculated by the British Bankers' Association on a daily basis, is the benchmark interest rate which is applied to commercial contracts around the world. Investigations are reportedly being conducted by agencies such as the U.S. Department of Justice.
