The article reviews several studies on the effect of group therapy on breast cancer survival. It discusses three studies on the effects of supportive expressive group therapy (SEGT) on women with advanced breast cancer. It examines the current status of the field of psycho-oncology and the benefits of group therapy. It concludes that promoting psychological wellness through SEGT does not extend patient survival.
