- Abstract
An essay is presented on the advocacy and commitment of author Ngũgĩ Wa Thiong in writing indigenous African languages. It analyses Ngũgĩ's books "Decolonising the Mind," "Homecoming," "Moving the Centre," and "Writers in Politics," which illustrate his effort of exploring ways of defining the true identity of the Africans. It also commends Ngũgĩ's effort of resisting past and present foreign domination to forge an authentic African identity.
