- Title
CHAPTER 6: Death, Desire, and the Generation of Metaphor.
- Authors
Airaksinen, Timo
- Abstract
The article discusses the metaphoric account of death and the original metonymic idea of desire, which becomes a metaphoric one once its transitionary and transcendental nature is fully developed. It mentions that death, desire, and metaphor exhibit a dynamic isomorphic structure, including death taking one from here to eternity, desire aiming at a desirable possible world, and every metaphor evoking a fresh field of discourse beyond the limits of the ordinary.
