- Authors
Gazella, Karolyn A.; Snyder, Suzanne
- Abstract
The article presents an interview with Rachel Naomi Remen, founder and director of the Institute for the Study of Health and Illness at Commonwealth, Bolinas, California. She believes that the decision to become a doctor is not made on just an intellectual level, but on a deeper, more profound level of realization. She states that her Crohn's disease has been one of the greatest forces in her life. What troubles her most is the lack of universal access to care and the soul loss in medicine.
