- Abstract
The article focuses on the alternative sports that has become increasing popular including abseiling, cliff-jumping, ice-climbing, and underwater cave-diving. It stated that alternative sports helped launch a counter-cultural sporting movement of international dimensions. On the other hand, alternative sports are regarded as one of the interests to social anthropologists in particular because it offers inspiration from societies. Some tourists turned to alternative sports in search of memorable adventures and adrenalin-boosting experiences, helping to develop new narratives and new sense of social soliditary.
