- Abstract
The article focuses on an assisted reproductive technology (ART) involving gametes and human embryos in Great Britain and the United States. It has been argued by the scholars that ART research in the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) lacks consistent oversight in comparison with Great Britain's Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA). In this article, the two systems are compared in great detail. The role of the HFEA in Great Britain is compared to the authority and limitations of several agencies and organizations in the United States in the article.
