ROMA or death: advances in epithelial ovarian cancer diagnosis.
- Authors
Plebani, Mario; Melichar, Bohuslav
- Abstract
The author comments on the efficacy of Risk of Ovarian Malignancy Algorithm (ROMA) in diagnosing epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) in women. To prevent death, metastasis and recurrence, the authors suggest early diagnosis on patients. They state that ROMA is more effective than Risk of Malignancy Index (RMI) because ROMA can detect state I, II invasive EOC and patients who have less than two centimeters of tumor in their upper abdomen.
