- Abstract
Reply to Addition of Long-Axis Ultrasound Imaging for the Pronator Quadratus Muscle for the Diagnosis of Pediatric Distal Forearm Fracture I To the Editor i : We were pleased with the interest in our study that described the novel pronator quadratus hematoma (PQH) sign.1 We thank Chang and Wu for their expert commentary and suggestion for the addition of the long-axis view of the pronator quadratus (PQ) muscle, which is also the transverse-axis view of the forearm bones, in the pediatric distal forearm injury scanning protocol. Their suggestion is well-reasoned, as the PQ long-axis is aligned with the PQ muscle fibers and could potentially enhance the border of hematoma formation resulting from a pediatric distal forearm cortical breach fracture.
