This essay explores the history of The Amigas Latinas and LLENA, two groups of Latina lesbians in Chicago, Illinois. Topics discussed include the founding of LLENA and Amigas Latinas, the coalition-building politics established by the two groups with other Latino and queer communities, and the contributions of Latina lesbians to the history of queer organizing in the Midwest.
