- Abstract
The present study was conducted in Bikaner and Jodhpur districts of Rajasthan in order to document the ethnoveterinary practices followed by livestock owners. A total of 120 livestock owners were selected as respondent from 12 selected villages of 4 tehsils of the districts. Inventories of 17 ethnoveterinary practices were documented for treatment of diarrhoea. Result revealed that using multanimitti (Fuller earth) with whey was found most frequently using practice for treatment of diarrhoea having highest Ethnoveterinary Medicine Use Index (97) and ranked first. Other most frequently utilized practices were, tea (Camellia sinensis) with water, ishbgul (Plantago ovata) with whey and ishbgul (Plantago ovata) with water having EVMUIs 93, 76 and 73 and ranked II, III and IV, respectively.
