- Abstract
The book "Introduction to Ethics" by Edmund Husserl compiles the university lectures he gave in Freiburg in 1920 and 1924. The book addresses the concern of introducing the problems of the affective sphere of consciousness and evaluative experience in the development of a scientific ethics. Throughout ten chapters, Husserl presents and analyzes the most important ethical ideas of some representatives of the history of ethics, while also presenting and developing his own theses. The book focuses on the confrontation between empiricism and rationalism in the attempt to establish the foundations of ethics. It also includes an excursus on nature and spirit, as well as brief annexes that delve into phenomenological concepts.
