- Abstract
The article discusses the enforcement of Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) by the federal government to involve in the investigation, prosecution and imprisonment of gang members in the U.S. It notes that RICO is an initiative of the federal government for aggressive response to the prosecution of the criminal activities committed by the illicit organizations or enterprises. It also mentions that RICO is a prosecutorial device that expanded federal power to question the modern gangs activities.
