- Abstract
Besides, benefiting from the attention of our country, the transmission rate of the COVID-19 pandemic is extremely low, and many of the infection-related factors found in other studies do not significantly affect the mental health of Chinese community residents. Previously, we have published our study concerning depressive symptoms in Chinese community residents during the COVID-19 pandemic.[[1], [3]] In our study, we elected to focus on a specific set of socio-demographic factors, and gender, BMI, drinking, marriage, monthly income, and nature of personnel and residential area were found associated with the incidence of depressive symptoms. As reported, several COVID-19-related factors were associated with depression during the COVID-19 pandemic, such as high epidemic location or high risk of exposure.[[4], [6]] Although these factors were not directly included in our study, we transformed it to personnel type according to the local situation.
