- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 83-year-old woman who had been followed up for coronary artery disease and hypertension and was hospitalized for pulmonary embolism and atrial fibrillation (AF). The case shows that use of dabigatran etexilate should be related to high levels of coagulation tests in elderly patients with moderate renal impairment. It states that such elderly patients should be followed up closely even if they do not have severely impaired renal impairment.
