- Abstract
The article focuses on the North American Agreement on Environmental Cooperation (NAAEC) which defines the environmental impacts of trade liberalization in North America. It discusses empirical assessment of the implementation of the NAAEC agreement which will be a benchmark for future assessments. The general background on the environmental effects of trade liberalization, institutional framework and the results of the empirical assessment and conclusions are discussed.
