- Abstract
The article discusses how pharmacologic inhibition of vacuolar H1ATPase attenuates features of severe asthma in mice. Topics discussed include need of alternative novel therapies for severe asthma control; therapeutic efficacy of bafilomycin A1 (Baf) compared with fluticasone propionate (FP) in a steroid-insensitive mouse model of severe asthma; and function of V-ATPases is to acidify the intracellular environment of lysosomes.
