- Abstract
This article discusses a case study of a 21-year-old female patient with a history of acute myeloid leukemia who developed pericarditis after undergoing a bone marrow transplantation. The patient presented with dyspnea and chest discomfort during physical exertion. The electrocardiogram (ECG) upon admission showed diffuse ST-segment elevations and a characteristic sign called "Spodick's sign," which aids in diagnosing acute pericarditis. The patient underwent diagnostic pericardiocentesis and received immunosuppression therapy, resulting in the resolution of symptoms. The article highlights the importance of recognizing Spodick's sign in distinguishing acute pericarditis from acute coronary syndrome.
