- Abstract
Hashimoto's thyroiditis with myxoedema was diagnosed, and the patient received both steroid and levothyroxinesupplementation. As our picture demonstrated, early recognition of myxoedema leads toprompt diagnosis of hypothyroidism and thyroxine supplementation rather than diuretic use for this kind of oedema. CLINICAL PICTURE MyxoedemainHashimoto'sthyroiditis A 58-year-old male without remarkable medical history presented to the emergency department with a 4-day history of progressive slow speech, lethargy and confusion.
