Title
Scaleup for a 'downer' FCC process.
Abstract
The article reports on the construction made by Nippon Oil Corp. of its high-severity fluidized-catalytic cracking (HS-FCC) unit in Tokyo, Japan. The HS-FCC unit is the first ever in the world that can process propylene from heavy fuel oils. The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) will provide two thirds of the $46 million for the said project. The HS-FCC process is expected to supply 34% gasoline and 20% propylene.
