- Abstract
The article offers news briefs related to studies, campaigns, and programs for the people. The Canadian government invested 30 million Canadian dollars to support the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CSLA) which aims to improve their quality of life. The sense of volunteerism is rekindled in the U.S. with the implementation of the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act. Meanwhile, the Global Alliance for Chronic Disease (Alliance) was formed to combat chronic, communicable diseases.
