- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 63-year-old man who was presented to the emergency department after an episode of hemianaesthesia and transient left hemiparesis. The intravenous cannula was rinsed with 10 milliliter (ml) of 0.09% normal saline after wiping the rubber cannula connector with an alcohol-based swab. Latex allergy was ruled out by serum-specific immunoglobulin E (IgE) and negative skin prick testing.
