- Abstract
Gradient inhomogeneous phase structure of polymer blends of low density polyethylene/ polyamide 6 (LDPE/PA6) and polypropylene/polystyrene (PP/PS) through melt spinning was investigated. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) results showed that the gradient phase structure was in the opposite sense in the two systems. This morphology was attributed to the component properties and the radial variation of parameters including temperature, viscosity, axial velocity and stress in the spinning path.
