- Abstract
The article discusses the creation of the isiNgqumo language, a variant of the isiZulu African language, particularly commenting on its use in South Africa among gay men as a means of reclaiming public homosexual discourse. It addresses homophobia in South Africa, the use of isiNgqumo as a means of challenging heteronormativity, and the social conditions of Nguni gay men.
