The article presents suggestions for effective working with media. As practitioners, people are used to hearing that they need to "raise visibility" or "increase awareness." But what does that really mean? To whom must one raise visibility? What is the target audience? According to the author "know what you need to see beforehand, so you can deliver results in the most effective media possible." Success isn't just scoring a front-page feature in the Wall Street Journal or an appearance on "Oprah." Real media relations success comes in building lasting relationships with editors and reporters.
