- Abstract
The article discusses the influence that William Shakespeare's writings had on the illustrations by English artist and author William Blake, including in the book "For Children: The Gates of Paradise," by Blake and in regard to Shakespeare's depiction of the dead in his drama. The influence that the play "MacBeth," by Shakespeare had on Blake artistic works, including Blake's illustrations of the Three Witches from the play, is discussed.
