- Abstract
The Covid-19 pandemic imposed the need to articulate educational practices that would deliver education to students even outside schools. This new system of remote teaching was made possible with the help of ICTs and their digital tools. With the implementation of BNCC and the emergency remote education, English language teachers found themselves trying to adapt their practices to both digital tools and to the ELF perspective. In response to this new reality, the objectives of this study are: i) to share an English language class implemented in the first five grades of two elementary schools during remote emergency teaching with a focus on developing a translanguaging practice with students through ICTs and ii) reflecting on the results produced by this class in the light of ELF studies. The reflections point out that the concepts of ELF and translanguaging can be fruitful for the public school.
