- Title
Mission Possible: National Bioethics Commissions Beyond the Conservative/Liberal Divide.
- Authors
Davis, F. Daniel
- Abstract
In this article the author attempts to evaluate bioethical debate beyond the conservative/liberal divide in the U.S. The author argues that bioethics comissions such as the recently dissolved President's Council on Bioethics (PCBE) should respond to the needs of the public and policymakers as well as to ethical advice. He notes that the advice of bioethics commissions should respond to a specific articulated need from the President and be responsive and accessible to the public.
