- Abstract
Hedychium coronarium is a traditional spice plant and is widely used in condiments. It is rich in essential oils, these essential oils can be used in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries and have great commercial value. Most previous studies have focused on the essential oils from Hedychium coronarium flowers, and there are relatively few studies on the content of essential oils from other parts of Hedychium coronarium, resulting in the low utilization rate of whole Hedychium coronarium plant. Based on this, in this study, steam distillation method is used to extract essential oils from Hedychium coronarium flowers, leaves, roots and stems, and the differences of chemical components of different parts of Hedychium coronarium are analyzed, and the differences of antioxidant activity of different parts of Hedychium coronarium are compared. The research results show that the types of chemical components of essential oils from Hedychium coronarium flowers are significantly higher than those of essential oils from Hedychium coronarium leaves, roots and stems. There is no significant difference in the DPPH free radical scavenging rates of essential oils from three different parts of Hedychium coronarium.
