- Abstract
The article provides information about the award recipients of the 2005 Western Section Awards of the American Society of Animal Science (WSASAS) in the U.S. Mark Petersen, who was awarded with Distinguished Service Award, has spend his entire professional career in service to the Western livestock industry and has been an active member of the society for several years. Chris Calvert, who has been awarded with Distinguished Teacher Award, developed his interest in a animal agriculture through a part-time job feeding cattle in a feedlot. The recipient of the Extension Award, Clay P. Mathis, has made a great contribution in the animal industry, specifically in cattle, and has developed programs related to livestock that has been recognized by beef producers nationwide.
