- Abstract
Catalytic supercritical water oxidation (CSCWO) is one of the most environmental-harmless processes based on supercritical water oxidation, which makes a promising technology for wastewater treatment. Organic waste is converted to harmless gaseous or liquid substances such as CO2 and H2O. The present review is concerned about the literatures published in CSCWO of industrial wastewaters, which is about achievements on treatment of industrial wastewaters. Oxides of Al, Mn, V, Ti, Ce and carbon were applied as heterogeneous catalysts. Reports on their characterisation and catalytic performances for the CSCWO of industrial wastewaters are reviewed. Eventually, development prospect of CSCWO technology is forecasted. Discussions are also made on the reaction mechanisms and kinetics proposed for heterogeneous CSCWO.
