- Title
Annual Report of the Executive Director.
- Abstract
The article presents information on the annual report of the American Personnel and Guidance Association (APGA). The 1967 APGA Convention in Dallas, Texas, marked the fifteenth official annual conference of APGA. By 1955-56, APGA had a membership of nearly 6,500, an annual budget of $74,406, and a staff of seven persons located in a coach house rented from the American Psychological Association. Today APGA has grown from five basic divisions to eight national divisions, with a total membership of 25,147 and an annual budget of over $650,000. Approximately $470,000 of the present APGA annual budget is derived from members" dues payments. The balance in excess of $180,000 is earned from publication sales, rental, special projects, grants, contributions, special services, and, interest from reserve funds. The APGA national headquarters property was purchased and occupied on March 1, 1959. In the period from 1959 to the present, APGA has regularly experienced certain financial difficulties as .a result of rising costs, increasing membership, increasing publications costs, and association services to members, branches, and divisions.
