- Abstract
MooCs are a proposal of open online courses, which has strongly positioned itself within higher education and has been a strong institutional commitment in some Universities, with the objective of improving even the university experience of its own enrollees. The present descriptive study is focused on analyzing the leveling courses in MooC format, created by the Polytechnic University of Valencia for its students, since its implementation in 2013 until the present. The analysis includes a triple perspective, (1) an analysis of the institutional motivations and the didactic evolution of the courses, (2) a documental analysis of leveling MooC and (3) an analysis of the participation of enrolled students. The study results indicate the evidence of a student profile that access to these courses and show us some strengths and weaknesses which define a set of improvement proposals for the institution that, consequently, result in an increase in participation in these courses.
