- Abstract
The article offers a perspective on the relationship of populism with U.S. democracy, the populist agendas of right-wing extremists or populists who have political power, and populism attributed to U.S. President Donald Trump. Topics include the link of populism to the radical right, populists' belief on the democratic principles of popular sovereignty and majoritarian rule, and distinction between the triadic structure of right-wing populism and dyadic composition of left-wing populism.
