- Abstract
Venom allergy may be life-threatening allergic reaction. Systemic allergic reactions occur with a frequency of 7.5% in adults and 3.4% in children. Since the risk of systemic reactions is a constant risk, it is necessary to prevent the continuing availability of symptomatic medications - adrenaline, antihistamines and corticosteroid injectors, which greatly affects the quality of life of a patient. The only form of treatment that effectively reduces the risk of future systemic responses is venom immunotherapy. This paper presents the latest guidelines in the diagnosis and treatment of venom allergy and discusses the efficacy, safety and efficacy of venom immunotherapy.
