- Abstract
The article discusses the Dewey Ranch Hockey LLC case and the role of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in decisions relating to the permissible control of national sports leagues over individual franchise owners. The discussion addresses antitrust law relating to professional sports leagues and its interplay with Sections 363 and 365 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code governing the ownership, sale and relocation of sports teams. It examines the team's disposition, the faulty analysis of Section 363 by U.S. District Judge Redfield T. Baum, and his ruling in the case.
