- Abstract
The author discusses the impact of glycosyl-phosphatidyl-inositol (GPI) anchored major histocompatibility complex class I-related chain A (MICA) alleles on NKG2D-based therapies. Topics discussed include the association between immune regulation and human NKG2D-ligands, the role of viral immune evasion strategies in determining the heterogeneity in the ligands' cell biology, and the concept of personalized medicine.
