- Abstract
Johnson (1968) referred to two unnamed phyllamphion larvae from Hawaii, later considered to be I P. wieneckii i by Sekiguchi & Saisho (1994), as well as a single larva from the South China Sea, later considered to be I Puerulus angulatus i (Spence Bate, 1888) by Sekiguchi & Saisho (1994). Larval stage nomenclature is relatively complicated in marine lobsters, as the decapodid puerulus phase is encountered in all species of Palinuridae where larvae are known, but should not be confused with the genus I Puerulus i Ortmann, 1897, a valid genus in Palinuridae. The marine lobster genus I Palinurellus i von Martens, 1878 currently comprises of two species, neither of which is of real commercial value, although both species are available in the aquarium trade.
