- Title
The outlook for commercial property.
- Abstract
The article examines the causes of the commercial property crash and assesses the outlook for the sector over the next two years from 2010. An overview of the crash is provided that started with the faltering of confidence as capital growth weakened and banks reacted to the credit market turmoil. The upturn of the market is attributed to investor sentiment and speculative investment coupled with ultra-loose monetary policy. A subdued recovery in occupier demand in major market segments is indicated with a slow recovery in western Europe.
