- Abstract
HARRIS et al.1 have shown that hybrid cells (A9/SEWA) derived from fusion of cells of polyoma-induced sarcoma (SEWA) and an aneuploid long-established fibroblast line (of L origin), A9, had low tumorigenicity (Table 1)2. They have also shown3 that the polyoma-induced transplantation antigen (PTA) was present in low tumorigenic hybrids of SEWA/T6 T6. To investigate the relationship between malignancy and cell surface modifications, we analysed, in this system, the polyoma-specific surface antigen revealed by immunofluorescence4 concurrently with other characteristics of these cells, such as karyotype, transplantability and the presence of T antigen.
