- Authors
Hickey, Georgina
- Abstract
The article looks at the state of gender rights through social change movements during the 20th century. United Auto Workers union founder Genora Dollinger called for Women's Emergency Brigade members to create stories of their husbands, fathers, and sons during a sit-down strike in Flint, Michigan in 1937 that established the union. The group Women Strike for Peace, led by Dagmar Wilson, sported white gloves and proper hats to oppose nuclear weapons testing in the 1960s.
