- Abstract
The article presents a meta-analysis to assess the role of omega-3 supplementation on major cardiovascular outcomes. It is concluded that omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) supplementation is not associated with a lower risk of all-cause mortality, cardiac death and myocardial infarction. The findings justifies that the use of omega-3 as a structured intervention in clinical practice do not support dietary omega-3 PUFA administration.
