- Abstract
The article focuses on a case-control study of the source of transmission of Escherichia coli (STEC) infection among individuals who attended the 2011 North Carolina State Fair from October 13 to 23 conducted by the North Carolina Division of Public Health (NCDPH). A network of hospital-based public health epidemiologists participated in the study. The illness is associated with visiting one of the permanent structures livestock. The action taken to prevent the outbreak is described.
