- Title
New, integrated initiatives aim to breathe life into efforts to address climate and clean air.
- Abstract
Government Ministers and partners of the UNEP-convened Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) have launched integrated initiatives to address climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss. These initiatives include a Clean Air Flagship effort to boost regional coordination and private sector engagement, as well as discussions on reducing emissions through the Global Methane Pledge and the Kigali Amendment. The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the CCAC also released a report on reducing CO2 emissions from heavy-duty vehicles. The report highlights the need for stricter regulations and cooperation between importing and exporting countries to ensure cleaner and safer vehicles.
