- Authors
Slive, Lauren
- Abstract
The article focuses on the requirements of calorie and nutrient disclosures on the food menus under the section 4205 of the federal Affordable Care Act (ACA) in context of the problem of obesity in the U.S. The interpretation of the section 4205 by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is discussed along with the possible impacts of the ACA's ceiling preemption. The rewriting of the section 4205 as a minimum standard in the U.S. and other alternatives to combat obesity is also suggested.
